| Ministry Responsibility: |
To provide godly, visionary, and strategic leadership and oversight for Team Leaders, and serve as a member of the Executive Council (the administrative leadership team for Ameritribes) |
| Ministry Overview: |
To provide spiritual oversight that honors God in all areas, modeling a lifestyle consistent with biblical teaching and providing spiritual leadership to Team Leaders.
Strategic planning—
- With input from Team Leaders and recognized Native Christian leaders, develop and implement a strategy for church planting and development of Native church leaders
- Coordinate and oversee surveys to determine potential placement of new teams in both reservation and urban areas
- Build new teams among reservation and urban Native American groups
- Work with existing teams to determine strategic and personnel needs and how to meet those needs
Recruiting—
- Develop and maintain relationships with partnering churches and schools to recruit and begin training potential candidates
- Assist Team Leaders with recruiting of new staff
Team Development—
- Appoint Team Leaders in consultation with
team members and Executive Council
- Serve as mentor to Team Leaders, developing and equipping them to accomplish their goals
- Assist Team Leaders in development of strategy and goal-setting
- Assist Team Leaders in integrating new staff into teams, ensuring adequate orientation
- Assist Team Leaders with member care
- Oversee Culture and Language Acquisition for teams
- Encourage openness to cultural expressions of biblical truth
- Nurture ministry skills of teams by developing and making them aware of pertinent workshops, educational opportunities, materials, etc.
- Be available to help address special ministry or personnel problems that arise, and mediate in conflicts or problems that the Team Leader has been unable to resolve
- Plan annual visits to each team, ministering to spiritual and emotional needs, and working with the team to address challenges they are facing
- Provide a forum for healthy inter-team relationships
Networking and Partnerships—
- Develop and maintain relationships with Native American Christian leaders and organizations
- Investigate possibility of partnerships with other organizations and work out agreements when it is clear that such a partnership would be beneficial
- Maintain awareness of relevant missiological, sociological, and political trends
Administration and Evaluations—
- Represent the U.S. Field on the Executive Council
- Act as liaison between the Executive Director, Team Leaders, and Executive Council
- Implement decisions of the Executive Council
- Oversee budget planning and financial matters relating to field operations
- Maintain a current file on each team, with quarterly reports and annual evaluations from all missionaries in U.S. Field
- Conduct annual evaluations of all U.S. Team Leaders

Degree in Bible/missions/intercultural studies.

Cross-cultural church-planting experience in a tribal context.

Competent in problem solving, strategic planning, and decision-making.
Able to wisely manage financial and human resources.
