Communications Manager

Position Title: Communications Manager
Accountability: Reports to the Executive Director
Ministry Responsibility: Oversight and production of communications materials for Ameritribes
Ministry Overview: Lead the Communications Team in development and production of all communications materials
Primary Duties:
  • Oversee and coordinate all communications projects
  • Design and produce materials such as brochures, bi-monthly publications and mission’s semi-annual magazine
  • Design and produce electronic presentations
  • Design and produce exhibit materials
  • Oversee, advise and produce mission advertising
  • Serve as Communications professional within the home office
  • Serve as Communications advisor to field staff and offices
  • Develop and maintain archives of communications materials
  • Oversee production of ongoing communications projects such as Prayer & Praise, Four Winds, staff directory, Challenge magazine, etc.
  • Oversee and maintain an effective mission web site
  • Select photos for projects, edit photos and maintain photo files
  • Supervise communications department support staff, interns and/or volunteers
  • Draft and maintain Communications budget
  • Make recommendations to the Communications Team for policies and procedures
  • Assist Communications Team in long-range planning for the department
  • Manage outsourcing as needed while maintaining appropriate vendor relations
  • Skills and Experience:
  • Exposure to world missions
  • Five years of management experience in communications field
  • Creative person who “thinks outside the box”
  • Exposure to marketing of ministry within field of missions
  • Hands-on experience in graphic design and photo editing
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite 2 (InDesign) software
  • Experience in writing and editing
  • Experience in web design and website maintenance
  • Experience with presentation software such as PowerPoint
  • Experience with CD/DVD medium

    Requirements:
  • Commitment to Ameritribes Foundational, Functional and Methodological Values and Doctrinal Statement
  • Commitment to continuing education regarding Native American history and tribal ministry
  • Commitment to continuing education in the field of communications
  • Minimum of an Associates Degree in field related to Communications
  • Some formal training from a Bible college or seminary
  • Perspectives on the World Christian Movement
  • Commitment to servant leadership
  • Location: Home Office in Tucson, Arizona
